Sales Tax Policy

Outback Shipping Containers LLC collects sales tax in accordance with applicable state and local tax laws. The amount of tax charged depends on the delivery destination, as sales tax is based on the state and local jurisdiction where the container is delivered. We have registered to collect sales tax in all states where we have economic nexus established under state tax laws.

We currently collect sales tax in all states where we have economic nexus established under state tax laws, which includes most U.S. states. The specific tax rate applied to your order will be displayed at checkout based on your delivery address. If your state does not require us to collect sales tax, your purchase may still be subject to use tax, which you are responsible for reporting and paying to your state.

Customers with valid tax-exempt status, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and resellers with valid resale certificates, may be exempt from sales tax. Please contact us at prior to placing your order to arrange tax-exempt purchasing. You will need to provide your tax-exempt certificate or resale license number at the time of order.

If you are purchasing containers for resale, you may submit a valid resale certificate to avoid paying sales tax. Resale certificates must be provided before order completion and must be valid in the state of delivery. Contact our accounting department at sales@outbackshippingcontainersllc.com for instructions on submitting your certificate. We will verify the certificate and apply the exemption to your order.

Sales tax is calculated based on the combined state, county, and local tax rates applicable to your delivery address. The exact tax amount is displayed during the checkout process before you confirm your order. Estimated tax shown during browsing may differ slightly from the final amount at checkout due to rounding and specific local tax district boundaries.

In some states, delivery and freight charges are subject to sales tax. Where applicable, tax on delivery fees will be included in the total tax amount shown at checkout. In states where delivery charges are not taxable, the delivery fee will be listed separately without tax applied.

If your order is refunded, any sales tax collected on that order will also be refunded. Tax refunds are processed in accordance with state tax regulations and will be returned via the original payment method. Partial refunds will include a proportional refund of sales tax.
